Tailors Personally tailored clothing are comparatively inexpensive in Phnom Penh, as are quality fabrics including fine Cambodian silk. Most of the silk boutiques offer
tailored clothing, often in unique Euro-Asian designs. The local tailors are less accustomed to foreigners as than the boutiques but prices are quite reasonable and they
can duplicate anything. Several local tailors are on Monivong near Kampuchea Krom and on Sihanouk between Monivong and Norodom including Independent Tailor near
Street 59 on Sihanouk Blvd. Both the Russian Market (Phsar Toul Thom Pong) and Olympic Market offer good selections of fabrics silks, linins, cottons rayon and blends.
Buy fabric at the market and take it to the tailor of your choice. The Russian Market (Phsar Toul Thom Pong) also has lots of vendors selling very reasonably priced surplus export clothing.

Electronic goods are not particularly inexpensive in Cambodia, but pretty much

Groceries and baked goods
The supermarkets, though small by international standards, offer a fairly good selection of imported food items from both Western and Asian countries, as well as fresh meats,
vegetables, fruits and dairy products. Lucky Market is perhaps the best known and most popular. Super Pencil on Street 214 also offers a similar selection. A few small
specialty shops such as Khmer Farmers Garden and Golden Garden offer fresh vegetable and fruits. Western-style baked goods can be found at bakeries in the 5-star hotels, The Shop and Comme a la Maison.

Money
Though Cambodian riel is the official currency, US dollars are currently the de facto tender in Cambodia. Most businesses, especially hotels, restaurants, airlines, markets
and souvenir shops set their prices in US dollars. Change of less than one dollar is given in riel. Always carry some small riel for minor purchases. 500 and 1000 riel notes are the
most common and useful denominations. Money changers cluster around the markets and tend to give a slightly better exchange rate than the banks. When accepting money,
inspect the bills. Marred riel is acceptable tender, but the tiniest tear in a large US note renders it unusable in Cambodia.
ATMs
Phnom Penh now has dozens of ATMs located all across town. ANZ Royal Bank and Canadia Bank ATMs both accept Cirrus, Plus, Maestro, Visa and MasterCard. SBC
Bank ATMs accept Visa and MasterCard. ACLEDA Bank ATMs accept Visa and Gold Dots. All ATMs dispenses US dollars For locations see the ATM icon on the city maps.
Credit Cards
Visa, MasterCard (MC) and JCB cards are the most widely accepted credit cards in Cambodia. AMEX is coming into wider use, as well as the new ANZ Bluespot card.
Diners Club (DC) is accepted at very few place. Most businesses charge commission on credit card payment.
Travelers
Checks Travelers checks are accepted at most banks, major hotels and restaurants and
some money changers. AMEX in US dollars are the most widely accepted.
Cash Transfers
'Instant' cash transfers can be done through MoneyGram or Western Union. Ordinary
telegraphic transfers are available at all major banks.
Banks
Banks provide currency and travelers check exchange, credit card advances,
telegraphic transfers and all usual banking services. Most banks are open from 8:00 to 15:00 or 16:00PM, Monday through Friday. Some are open Saturday mornings until 11:30.

Though the medical facilities are still limited and in many cases not up to international standards, there has been much improvement in recent years, offering a greater range
and quality of services. There are several foreign doctors and international clinics in town, most listed below. Calmette Hospital and the international clinics can handle most
medical problems but serious illness or injury may still require medical evacuation, probably to Bangkok or Singapore. In addition to general medical services, the
international clinics also offer evacuation and medical translation services. Though the cost of medical care is fairly nominal in Cambodia, the cost of medical evacuation is
exorbitant. Medical insurance including evacuation insurance is highly advisable.
In case of medical emergency, proceed to the main hospital (Calmette Hospital) or one
of the major international clinics such as International SOS. Be aware that the ambulance services are not always prompt and the emergency telephone numbers
sometimes go unanswered. Also be aware that only a couple of the foreign clinics accept insurance. Most places including the hospital expect cash or credit card payment at time of treatment.
